Challenge
LUX ed needed more than a marketing website. Its course platform had to support busy luxury service teams on the web and in a dedicated mobile experience without creating separate systems for content, enrolment and progress.
Approach
We designed and built the WordPress website around LUX ed's offer, then connected LearnDash to an Expo and React Native app through the LearnDash and WordPress APIs. Authentication, course structure and progress remain connected to the same learning platform.
Deliverables
- Website strategy, responsive design and WordPress development
- LearnDash course-platform implementation
- Expo and React Native companion app for iOS and Android
- WordPress, LearnDash, authentication and progress API integration
Outcomes
- One LearnDash foundation for course delivery across web and mobile
- A dedicated app for finding, continuing and completing lessons and quizzes
- Connected enrolment and progress information across the learning experience
- A maintainable route for publishing courses and editorial content through WordPress
A digital home for a specialist learning offer
LUX ed provides training designed for teams working in luxury retail, hospitality and other high-service environments. The website needed to introduce that offer with the same confidence and attention to detail expected from the brands LUX ed supports.
We created a responsive WordPress website that explains the service, presents the available packages and gives prospective clients a clear route to start a conversation. WordPress also provides the editorial foundation for The LUX Edit, allowing the team to publish current thinking and updates alongside the learning platform.
Building courses around LearnDash
LearnDash sits at the centre of the course experience. It gives LUX ed one place to structure courses, lessons and quizzes while managing enrolment and learner progress.
That shared foundation was important. The companion app does not require a second course-management process or a duplicate catalogue. Instead, it uses the existing WordPress and LearnDash data, keeping the content learners see connected to the platform the LUX ed team manages.
Extending the platform into a dedicated app
We built the companion app with Expo, React Native and TypeScript for iOS and Android. Learners can authenticate, browse the courses available to them, search learning material, open lessons and quizzes, and return to training already in progress.
The app uses the LearnDash and WordPress APIs to retrieve courses, lesson structures, group access and progress. Course content is presented within the mobile journey, while completion updates are sent back to WordPress so LearnDash remains the source of record.
Keeping the learning journey connected
The integration covers more than displaying a list of courses. It supports authenticated lesson access, enrolled-course views, progress indicators, previous and next navigation, completion updates and a return path to the learner's last viewed lesson.
The app also brings WordPress editorial content into its home experience. This gives LUX ed a connected channel for industry news, platform updates and training, while keeping content management within tools the team already uses.
Designed as one product
The website and app have different jobs, but they belong to the same service. The website introduces LUX ed and supports the commercial journey. LearnDash provides the course foundation. The app gives learners a focused place to make progress from their phones.
Treating those parts as one connected product created a clearer experience for learners and a more maintainable platform for the LUX ed team.
“Reuben Enterprises brought the website and app together as one learning experience. We can manage our courses through LearnDash while learners complete them in a dedicated mobile app that feels unmistakably LUX ed.”
